Free food in Connaught PlaceDelhi, India. A particularly good year, a wedding, or any cause for celebration sometimes calls for feeding the hungry masses – in this case, a tent set up in the middle of Connaught Place, with hot food cooked on the spot and offered to whoever happens to walk by.

Surprisingly enough for a gathering this size, there was ample provision for the collection and disposal of used plates, cups and utensils. Whether it be due to an enlightened civic conscience or threat of stiff fines for littering, it was good to see cleanup in action [especially with the Commonwealth games fast approaching].
