Bus Shelter, New Haven, CT.

Officially known as the “Artspace Transit Enhancement Project”, the structure is to be located in New Haven, CT. at the vacant lot (formerly the Phoenix Building) on Chapel street between Orange and Church Streets.

Designed for the New Haven Transit District, this project is the centerpiece of a newly created public space in downtown New Haven.  In addition to serving as a hub for 6 bus routes, the shelter will be used as a canopy for performances and other activities in the newly created space.
The complex curve of each polycarbonate panel is restrained by the clear anodized aluminum structure.  The single horizontal component of the structure houses linear lighting along its entire 40-foot length to provide diffused illumination.
