Lacie bus-powered external drives by Porsche Design, as seen on the thinkmore WoF.

Lacie is possibly the only consumer products company that regularly promotes interesting [starck, poulton, ora-ito], and sometimes good design. Definitely the only computer peripherals company to do so. The drives are generally well put together, and are a pleasure to own and to use.

What makes these particular ones special? They’re the only ones to stack – the little rubber feet slot perfectly into the little recesses. Nothing life-changing, but definitely thoughtful.

For an idea of size, the pegs on the wall are 4″ on center, about 10cm.
