In the world of online commerce, it’s easy to forget that there’s a place things come from, a place where they are made, from where they are sent. There was a time when I was an avid stamp collector, and those little colored pieces of paper meant something – a bit of Greece, a bit of Japan, a bit of Indonesia in the palm of my hand, having been lovingly freed from its perch on an envelope or a package.

A Fedex label? Pretty dry by comparison.

We’ve looked at examples of luscious bits hidden within austere exteriors, and it’s always such a pleasant surprise. It was with delight that I received this little package from China. A plain front, with a resplendent behind.
